Within Word |
Students in the Within Word developmental stage are working on spelling one syllable words. In this stage, students explore short and long vowels, r controlled vowels, and diphthongs and less common ambiguous vowels. They look at consonant concepts like blends and digraphs. Students explore homophones in this stage. At the end of the stage, students begin looking at inflected endings and compound words.
