Narrative Writing : If you want to work on your writing with some feedback then please click above. I would love to write with you! Become your own primary source: Keep a daily journal of your time at home during this historical pandemic. This will be something to look back on when people say- remember when there was a huge pandemic and we all had to stay home?? Here are some questions to get you started: What is happening? How has your life changed? How do you feel about it? How are you spending your time? What have you discovered or learned? FUN FRIDAY MATH PROJECT: Yes- I do math too!! Join me on Friday March 20 for some Probability Fun! Or whenever you want something fun to do! Problem of the Week: Math Resource This is where I get my Problem of the Day. Challenging tasks that help develop perserverance! I use one of these with both my girls to get started and then they each head to do their own math. |

Think about your reading goals. What are you doing during your reading time to work on your goals?
C: Comprehension: How can you tell if you comprehend the text?
A: Accuracy: How can you work toward reading the words exactly as they are written?
F: Fluency: What are you doing to practice your phrasing, expression, tone and rate?
E: Expand Vocabulary: How are you tuning into new and interesting words?
C: Comprehension: How can you tell if you comprehend the text?
- Stop to check for understanding: Who/ what / why
- Summarize text
- Ask questions before during and after reading
A: Accuracy: How can you work toward reading the words exactly as they are written?
- Practice Fry Words : Link
- Cover up prefix and suffix to find base word
- Use flashcards to practice letter sound relationships with the key words.
F: Fluency: What are you doing to practice your phrasing, expression, tone and rate?
- Use SeeSaw to record yourself and practice
- Practice reading a page several times
- Use an easier book for practicing fluency
E: Expand Vocabulary: How are you tuning into new and interesting words?
- Stop when you come to a word you are not familiar with.
- Use context clues.
- Notice when an author uses a word or phrase in a way you haven't seen before.
- Ask a friend or adult for a meaning that you can't figure out.
- Use new words in your writing and speaking.
