Parent Communications during School Closure
During this closure, I have worked closely with Grade 3 to provide Fundations Highlights video lessons and video practice for all third graders. If there is a parent who would like these for any other grade level , please email me at [email protected]. |
Welcome to The Parent Place!
I have made this page my ground zero for communications with parents. Anyone at all is welcome here even if your child is not part of a small group with me. I am in many classrooms and work all across the building. Email me at [email protected] with any questions. Stay Safe! Mrs. Mac |

Welcome! I hope that you find this site to be helpful to you as you work with your child in literacy. The most important thing you can do is make sure your child is reading every night. Be sure to have conversations with your child to be sure he/she is comprehending. Take advantage of any time you can encourage writing and word play, too.
Title OneSome students work with me through the TItle One program here at Deer Hill. Click Here to learn more about this program.

Child Study
Sometimes parents worry that their child may not be picking up reading skills as fast as they would like. If you have concerns, please share them with your child's teacher. I am available for consultation with teachers to help them differentiate for the needs in their rooms. If a teacher has a concern about a child with respect to their literacy development, then the teacher may choose to bring those concerns to the Child Study Team. During this process, the classroom teacher develops an action plan to target the areas that need development. The teacher works with the plan for a period of about 6 weeks collecting data on how the child responds to the plan. We convene the team to go over the results and make recommendations on next steps.
